Have you ever participated in a quilt along?
I always really enjoy quilt alongs- "meeting" new quilters and seeing their versions of the same pattern I'm working on coming to life.
I just wrapped up a fun, easy paced quilt along with Ledine at Sugar Stitches Quilt Co. for her Sugar Coated Stars quilt, and it was so much fun! I even won a roll of Hobbs batting!
My fabric pull included prints from Sweet Fire Road's beautiful collection called Midnight in the Garden, as well as some coordinating Basic Grey Grunge, both for Moda Fabrics.
One of the best things about a quilt along is that it keeps you on track, with a prompt each week (fabric pull, cut fabric, piece units, etc.)...
And suddenly, you're at the end, and you have a beautiful quilt to show for it! (and maybe you've won a prize, too!)
And then it's time for some quilt in the wild pics!
The following 2 pics were actually taken in our front yard! Early one morning I peeked out of the window and saw the perfect shot, hustled quilt husband out the door, and got these pics, bathed in early morning sunbeams.
And then, on Halloween (which I don't recommend... there are many, many school field trips to the pumpkin patch on Halloween!) we visited our local pumpkin patch...
And here's the quilt back:
If you've never tried a quilt along (or even if you have) you should take a look at Plains and Pine's BOM (Block of the Month) quilt along starting next year. I'm definitely signing up, hope to see you there!
