The Heatwave Quilt

A new modern quilt pattern from Tied With a Ribbon

It was my pleasure, once again, to pattern test for the talented Jemima of Tied with a Ribbon!

Her newest pattern, releasing today, is called Heatwave. It is a bold graphic design using equilateral triangles, and it was so much fun to make!

I started with my fabric pull:

These are prints from the Dusk Fusion collection by Art Gallery Fabrics, plus the pretty pink with gold stars is from the AGF Christmas in the City collection.

Cutting is pretty straightforward for this pattern... it's all one shape! Jemima includes a template for you to print out, and she also offers an acrylic template on her website as well.

For the quilting, I chose a damask-esque design called Mariette by Jessica Schick for Urban Elementz, which complements both the florals in the fabrics and the angular, diamond motif of the quilt. Plus, Jack liked it.

And then the photo shoot was at the delightful Oak Hall B&B - to see more quilty pics from our stay there, see the previous blog post.

They even had throw pillows to match!!

I tested the throw size, which is a generous 69 1/2" x 71 1/2"- perfect for sofa snuggling.

In short, another fun, bold and beautiful pattern from Tied With a Ribbon!
