Featuring fabric from Frannie B Quilt Co's Elegance Fabric Collection for Riley Blake Designs
I am honored to be a pattern tester for Plains and Pine. Lindlee's designs are inspired by her heritage and feature lonestar quilt patterns that are clear and approachable, with no Y seams ever! (IYKYK)
The Hi Line Star Quilt is her most recent release. To test this pattern, I chose a midnight blue and gold palette from the Elegance Fabric Collection from Frannie B Quilt Co for Riley Blake Designs:
I chose the placement of each fabric carefully to create a pattern rather than a random, scrappy effect (which also looks amazing in this pattern- check out #hilinestarquilt on instagram for other testers' more scrappy versions).
One of the great things about this particular design is that you can create secondary patterns with the background: diamonds and triangles in different arrangements. This is the layout I chose:
I named my version Night and Day.
I, of course, made sure Jack, my quality assurance manager, put his paw/stamp of approval on the project:
And then we took her out for some quilt in the wild pics!
This was taken at the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs:
And this one is at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs... one of the most haunted hotels in America! (It's such a tourist attraction, we had to wait 20 minutes for the tour buses to pass to get this shot!)
I love how this quilt turned out. Even when you carefully plan a quilt, it's always a bit of a surprise how it looks in the end!
